Westmorland County Show 2026

Another fantastic two days for the 227th Westmorland County Show!

The County Show is a milestone in the calendar for farmers and producers across Cumbria and beyond, offering a chance to showcase the very best of agriculture in the Northwest. Both Wednesday and Thursday welcomed thousands of visitors to the showground and despite a soggy end to day 2, there was still a fantastic atmosphere throughout the event.

The showground was bustling with hundreds of trade stands and livestock.  We were lucky enough to hold the North Country Cheviot Sheep Societies English National Show and the Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling Ladies Under 10 Stone National Championship. We were also delighted to welcome back our poultry classes after some restricted events due to Bird Flu. Competitors in the Equine Village were competing for places at the London International Horse Show and the Veteran Area Qualifier, along with many other competitions. This year we even had a record number of dressed sticks this year with over 250 entries!

The Westmorland Food Hall was packed full of local producers and with snaking queues, those in attendance were treated to everything from fudge, cheese, gin and bread.  Food enthusiasts enjoyed an array of demonstrations in the Cumbria Life Food Theatre led by renowned figures including Chris Bavin and Phil Vickery as well as many local chefs and producers in the culinary world.

A great addition to this year’s show was our brand new ‘Westmorland Hub’ sponsored by Handlesbanken, which was filled with a wide variety of speakers throughout the event. Visitors enjoyed engaging in Q&A sessions and hearing from inspirational speakers of the agricultural industry.
