CT&JL Services Ltd is also an approved National Sprayer Test Centre (NSTS) based in Cumbria. We can carry out sprayer tests on crop sprayers of all types, weedwipers, ATV based sprayers etc.

All pesticide application equipment applying professional plant protection products (PPP) must be tested. The requirements are contained in the Plant Protection Products (Sustainable Use) Regulations 2012 – Sustainable Use Directive (SUD). Along with the requirement to follow integrated pest management (IPM) principles and ensuring operators hold the relevant certificate of competence for the application equipment they are using, testing of PPP application equipment ensures safe and accurate operation of machinery for a more sustainable future of weed, pest and disease management and control.

The Cumbria Proficiency Tests Committee is a City and Guilds approved assessment Centre which provides opportunities to obtain nationally recognised qualifications through City & Guilds and NPTC, leading to wide ranging career opportunities within the Land Based and Environmental sectors.  Since taking over the running of the centre we have registered over 3,000 candidates each year from many different providers throughout the UK and Ireland.

At the centre, we register candidates for assessments with City & Guilds both on behalf of trainers and training companies.  We also work with assessors to carry out quality assurance observations to ensure everyone works within the specifications required by the certificating body.  Our most popular qualifications include Pesticides, Veterinary Medicines, Land Based Machinery, Transportation of Livestock, Chainsaw and Forestry Machinery.
